课程简介：现代流行病学是研究疾病和健康状态在人群中的分布及其影响因素，以及制定和评价预防、控制和消灭疾病及促进健康的策略与措施的科学。由于人类面对疾病威胁的复杂化和现代医学的快速发展，现代流行病学已从研究人群疾病与健康防控的应用学科发展成为医学研究的方法学和应用科学。只要涉及到公共卫生和预防医学领域的科学研究，都要应用到现代流行病学的严谨思维方式、科学的逻辑推理和系统的研究方法，回答本领域的科学问题。目前现代流行病学已成现代医学培养高层次研究型实用人才的关键课程，是公共卫生类硕士研究生核心必修课。
